TKS updates
I have finally finished my article after editing it for almost two months… So I can finally post it on LinkedIn and share a sneak peek here :)
In my article, I write about different inventions you see and use practically every day and explain their origins. For example, did you know that the design of Velcro was inspired by cockle burrs?
In 1948, while on a hike with his dog, Swiss engineer George De Mesral noticed that he and his dog has hundreds of burrs attached to them. Once he got home, he placed one of these burrs under the microscope and noticed that these burrs had tiny little hooks at the ends of their spikes.
He realized this had huge potential in getting two things to stick to each other easily and without glue. By making one side with hooks, and another with loops, he had successfully recreated nature. It then became hugely famous under the name of Velcro®.
There will be more examples in my article, but for now, this is all you get ;)
I will be posting it very soon, and as for the next steps of the focus process, I will post those as soon as I am finished.
Villars update
After attending the Villars symposium last year, I have been able to sign up for the Villars summit in March. There will be about 300 people attending the summit, and out of all of those people, 250 of them will be professionals and high-ranking people. People from the World Economic Forum and World Trade Organization, professors from Oxford, Stanford, Lancaster, Yale, and Cambridge. For three days straight, I will be surrounded by some of the smartest people whilst learning more about the environment than I could ever imagine, and plus from professionals. I will give updates as the days go!
Rugby results
And finally, on a less serious note, we successfully all went to Paris and all came back in one piece. We tied twice against the Paris team, and as expected lost kinda miserably to the best team in France. One way or another, we made history for our school and started something which I hope will last.
Anyways, see you next month!
